Who this policy applies to
This Privacy Policy is issued by Altida Dinamik Maritime Sdn Bhd (“Altida”, “we”, “us”), a freight forwarder and Class 1 dangerous-goods logistics operator incorporated in Malaysia. It governs personal data collected through this website, our quotation and dispatch workflows, and any correspondence with our ops desk.
We process personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Act 709) of Malaysia, and the principles that flow from it: general, notice and choice, disclosure, security, retention, data integrity, and access.
What we collect
- Identifying data — names, job titles and company affiliations of shippers, consignees, customs brokers, port agents and partner carriers.
- Contact data — email addresses, telephone numbers, postal and warehouse addresses, WhatsApp handles used for dispatch coordination.
- Commercial data — quotation requests, freight manifests, packing lists, dangerous-goods declarations and insurance instructions.
- Identification documents — only when required by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Royal Malaysian Customs, or port authorities for Class 1 movement clearance.
- Technical data — limited to server logs and standard request metadata generated when you load this site. We do not use behavioural advertising trackers.
Lawful basis
We process personal data on three grounds: (a) consent, where you voluntarily submit information through a quotation form or direct correspondence; (b) contractual necessity, where we need to execute a freight movement, magazine storage instruction or chartering brief; and (c) legal obligation, where regulators — PDRM, Customs, port and aviation authorities — require us to retain and produce records under Malaysian law.
How we use it
- To quote, plan, dispatch and audit freight, including Class 1 movements.
- To prepare regulatory paperwork — IMDG declarations, IATA DGR shipper's notes, customs entries and PDRM movement permits.
- To communicate operational status — sailings, transit milestones, exceptions, discharge confirmations.
- To meet HSSE, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 obligations, including incident investigation and audit trails.
- To respond to direct enquiries, sales discussions and procurement requests.
Who we share it with
We disclose personal data only to the extent required to perform the shipment or to comply with Malaysian law. Recipients include: regulatory authorities (PDRM, Royal Malaysian Customs, port operators, CAAM); appointed sub-carriers, shipping lines and airlines; licensed customs brokers; magazine and bonded-warehouse operators; insurance underwriters; and professional advisers bound by confidentiality. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with marketing networks.
Cross-border transfers
Trade-lane execution requires personal data to be transferred outside Malaysia — commonly to Brunei, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar and the Philippines — when consignees, ports and partner carriers are based there. Such transfers are carried out only to perform the contracted freight movement, with appropriate contractual safeguards.
Retention
Commercial and regulatory records — including IMDG declarations, IATA DGR documentation, magazine ledgers and customs entries — are retained for the periods mandated by Malaysian law, which can extend up to seven (7) years following the last movement. Quotation correspondence that does not progress to a contract is retained for up to two (2) years for service continuity, then deleted.
Your rights under PDPA
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or outdated data.
- Limit or withdraw consent for processing (subject to legal retention duties).
- Request deletion where there is no overriding legal basis to retain.
- Lodge a complaint with the Department of Personal Data Protection (JPDP), Malaysia.
Security
Personal data is held on access-controlled systems, with role-based permissions for ops, compliance and finance staff. Movement-critical correspondence is logged and version-controlled. We do not store regulated identification documents longer than the underlying permit requires.
Cookies
This site uses only the strictly-necessary technical cookies required to serve the page (e.g. Vercel session, content delivery). It does not use analytics, advertising or fingerprinting cookies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in law, regulation or our operating document. The effective date at the top of this page will move forward when we do. Material changes will be summarised on the homepage banner for at least 30 days.
